Senator Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) has announced a series of grants in the 24th district, encompassing parts of Berks and Montgomery Counties, aimed at enhancing local infrastructure.

Boyertown Borough is set to receive $60,000 for the acquisition and installation of an emergency generator at the Trout Run Dam Pump Station in Earl Township. This grant will ensure continuous water supply for approximately 8,000 residents in the area during power outages, safeguarding against interruptions in service.

In Hereford Township, a grant of $67,095 has been allocated for the construction of a new playground structure at Treichlers Mill Park. The project includes the installation of a commercial-grade vinyl playground, new wood fiber mulch, a playground border, and drainage improvements, enhancing recreational facilities for the community.

Topton Borough will benefit from a $57,295 grant for the rehabilitation of a chlorine chamber at a wastewater treatment plant. The refurbishment will address concrete deterioration caused by chlorine corrosion, improving disinfection processes and preventing structural damage.

Additional grants include $376,000 for improvements along Eleventh Street in Pennsburg Borough, $100,000 for ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps in Green Lane Borough, $182,190 for pedestrian safety enhancements at the Cross Road and Spencer Drive intersection in Skippack Township, and $306,229 for the relocation of the Sumneytown Pike Pedestrian Bridge in Upper Gwynedd Township.

Senator Pennycuick emphasized the importance of these infrastructure investments, stating, "As a state Senator, ensuring our roads, bridges, parks, and water infrastructure are safe, modern and efficient is a top priority. I’m pleased to assist our municipalities with funding for these important local projects to better ensure the well-being of our citizens."
